COLÉGIO DE NOSSA SENHORA DO ROSÁRIO’S SOCIAL PROJECTS

The AJUDA Program (A – Action, J – Justice, U – Union, D – Dádiva (Gift) and A – Amor (Love)) includes all the social projects of Colégio de Nossa Senhora do Rosário. These projects aim at the development of competences in the students that contribute to their integral formation, providing them opportunities for reflection and intervention in the community through dynamics of interaction. They are, therefore, projects whose focus is Education for Justice, the promotion of volunteering and service to the community.

The following projects are currently part of the AJUDA Program:

– PAS Project: Project of social support to the homeless of the city of Oporto through the distribution of food and moments of dialogue, close contact and individual accompaniment, always with the objective of providing life-changing opportunities. Currently 272 volunteers are involved in this Project, among students, parents, employees and former students.

– Raiz (Root) Project: project of social intervention in the poor neighborhoods of the communities closest to the school. This intervention, aimed at children and young people and their families, is carried out by supporting the study, the dynamization of actions in the community (training and others) and the monitoring of families with the aim of creating positive behavior changes.

– Timor Mission: an international project that brings together volunteers from the different institutions in the Portuguese province. The presence of the group in Timor for a month aims to stimulate actions that value education, provide opportunities for learning the Portuguese language and promote daily life in the community of Zumalai, where the first and only RSHM presence in Timorese territory resides.
